Super stoked to have been given the opportunity to Super stoked to have been given the opportunity to do the creative direction for @volcom_eu ‘s first full length skate movie. The last time I worked on a vco skate movie rollout was Freedom Wig (!) -anyway here are some bts photos of the creative process… initial logo sketches, building the ads with @hgrolo , creating the cloud font, and painting a lot of backgrounds. Speaking for everyone, I think the crew wanted to bring back that old school hand-made vibe that made the early Veeco productions so iconic. Love the way it turned out, amazing work by @labadass___ on the edit, a thousand merci’s to @tortuga_666 for animating my work and thanks a million to @mareebasse40 @hgrolo @robertoaleman1 for giving me the opportunity. The Barcelona premiere was a banger, always fun to catch up with the team for a rager, meet some new friends at @amigosskateshop and then see @pizza_knife throw down a glorious live set. The icing on the cake was stumbling into the band at 3 am (I think?) on the streets and harsh barging a chicken shop for roast chooks and naan which we ate like cavemen sitting on the sidewalk until the street sweepers came and washed us away. Good times!
Super stoked to have some of my work hanging at @a Super stoked to have some of my work hanging at @atabal_biarritz for a group show celebrating 20 years of this extraordinary venue’s existence. The artwork will be hanging in the entry hall / expo space from the 28th of November until the 17th of January 2026. Swipe left to see some of the process in creating these prints. They are actually hand-cut stencils upon which I used an untreated silkscreen (no emulsion, no design) and dragged the ink across it, printing through the stencil onto paper; some of which I painted acrylic backgrounds. These stencils only last for a certain amount of pulls before they disintegrate, making them even more exclusive as in there will never be reprints. If you happen to be in the area, stop by and have a look at the body of work hanging in the venue; besides myself the show features around 20 other artists! If you would have asked me 5 years ago if I though If you would have asked me 5 years ago if I thought I would ever return to creating collage based print ads for Volcom I probably would have spit my beer out laughing. But here we are. @mareebasse40 and @hgrolo approached me to put together an old school layout celebrating my longtime amigo @gonyzubizarreta ´s 27 (!) years of being a team rider - I was more than willing to oblige. Also they let me do what I used to do and eschewed that rebrand schmeebrand stuff that I don’t think anyone liked. Plus it’s a print ad, which seems like such a rare bird these days, and nonetheless in @wastedtalentintl who are also friends and procurers of good taste. So yeah, I’m fucken stoked to bust out the x-acto blades and spray paint once again. Thanks for the opportunity! @volcom_eu
